Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation £28.50

A few weeks ago I took a photo of this foundation, preparing to put it in a "products I regret buying" post, not because I don't like it but because I bought it on a whim a few months ago and just didn't get round to really using it. Since taking the photo I decided to give it a go, I first bought this around two and a half years ago but I can't really remember what I thought about it back then! My shade is Ecru which is a perfect match for my skin, there is also a really broad range of shades, going from super pale to the darkest skin tones which is great as brands can be terrible when it comes to wide shade ranges! Since trying this foundation I can honestly say I am in love, 100% in love. I genuinely don't think I've ever loved a foundation as much as I love this one, it is perfect for my skin type. I have quite combination skin, when I apply my foundation in the morning I have dry skin but throughout the day around my nose gets quite oily, so I need a foundation to not cling to dry patches but also keep my skin matte. The lasting power of this foundation is phenomenal, I genuinely have never tried a foundation that looks pretty much exactly the same in the morning than it does after a long day running around and being busy. I didn't have to powder my skin throughout the day at all when using this foundation, when I read the information on this foundation I imagined it to be really matte and not great on dry patches however it really was great and didn't accentuate any dry skin.

The finish is matte but it's not drying in the slightest. I apply this foundation with the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush which I've found works really well for applying it! This foundation retails for £28.50, when I bought this 2 years ago it was £25.50 so the price has risen quite a lot! It's cheaper than the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation which I also love but I think I prefer this foundation as it ticks every single box for me and I cannot find one fault! The coverage of this is definitely fuller coverage so if you're a BB cream/tinted moisturiser kind of person, this may not be the foundation for you! However if you're like me and prefer a flawless finish and need your uneven skin tone, acne scarring and blemishes covered then this is perfect! The packaging is a frosted glass bottle, a lot of people may not like that it doesn't come with a pump, to be honest I don't mind too much when foundations don't have pumps so it's not a problem for me but if you like a pump you may have to buy one separately!
