Nars One Night Stand Palette

Nars One Night Stand Palette £45

There has been a lot of hype surrounding this palette, at first I wasn't too fussed by it, surprisingly! However as I read blog posts on it and watched youtube videos where it was featured, I slowly started becoming obsessed with getting it, I tweeted a lot asking whether I should get it and everyone said I needed it. This palette is exclusive to Space NK in the UK and Sephora in the US. Almost immediately it sold out on Space NK and was on back order until 1st December, I went on Space NK and it seemed to be back in stock so I quickly put in an order. However a few days later I received a call from Space NK telling me that it was out of stock again and it would be 2-3 weeks before I could receive it *sadface* however about a week later I received an email saying it had been dispatched and it arrived the next day. Although Space NK have confused me with it being in stock and then out of stock and then disappearing off the website and suddenly being available again, I cannot fault their customer service, I received a lovely call when it was out of stock and I was sent emails and texts to let me know it was on it's way, what time it would arrive and the name of my delivery driver (lovely Michael haha!) so I am really impressed with their service and would definitely order again from them, I do have my eye on the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders!

Moving on from my story telling and onto the actual palette. This palette is part of the Guy Bourdin collection, if you don't know, Guy Bourdin was a well known french fashion photographer. He was quite controversial and his work was often shocking, full of violence and sex which is why a few people have raised concerns with the collaboration. The palette is the typical Nars black packaging, it's actually a lot bigger than I thought it would be and each product is a really good size. In the palette you get four blushers, a bronzer and a highlighter so it's really all the cheek products you need! The thing I love about this palette is that you get three of Nars most famous cheek products, Orgasm, Laguna and Deep Throat and three limited edition shades, Mistinguette, Goulue which are both blushers and Devotee, a beautiful highlighter. I think something that put a lot of people off buying this was that they already had the "classic" shades, I only had Deep Throat so it was still worth investing in the palette as I had been dying to try the other two. Devotee is the most beautiful highlighter, it has a slight pink undertone and I just find it so flattering on the skin, I use this on the tops of my cheekbones, in the inner corner of my eye and on my brow bone. Mistinguette is my favourite blusher shade in the whole palette, in the pan it looks quite scary as it's bright pink but it is really flattering on my skin and really easy to wear. Orgasm is definitely the most talked about Nars blusher, I'm glad it's in the palette as I've wanted to try it for ages, it's a lovely golden pink shade. Laguna is the bronzer in the palette, I have also wanted to try this for ages and a few weeks ago I was going to buy it, I always thought it was too dark for my fair skin however it is absolutely beautiful and not muddy like a lot of other bronzers I've tried! Next is Deep Throat, I already own this blusher but it is beautiful! It's a slightly toned down version of Orgasm. Finally is Goulou, this is a slightly more berry/reddish shade than the others, in the pan it scares me a little bit because of how red it looks but used with a light hand it is so pretty!

I have to say that after wearing Devotee and Laguna today, I am sold. They look beautiful together, Laguna is such a natural looking bronzer and Devotee just gave my skin the most beautiful "glow" that I have never got from a highlighter! I personally think the palette is great value for money as the pans are only a tiny bit smaller than if you buy them separately, so at £21.50 each and £45 for this palette, it's a great deal! Each blusher is so pigmented and absolutely beautiful to wear, I would 100% recommend this palette, I also think it would be a perfect christmas gift for someone who loves makeup!

  2. I am so intrigued by this palette, I've never tried a Nars blush, so I think this would be a good place to start since it has the classics and the new ones also look amazing!

  6. I had a chance to get it when it was still in SpaceNK but somehow didn't do it. Now they don't have it and I don't think they will restock it.
