Current Favourites

The past month or so has been about discovering new products but also rediscovering old favourites. I had purchased the Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Coverage Foundation quite a while ago and it had been a long time since I had used it, after rummaging through my makeup drawer I decided to give it a go again. This is definitely full coverage and it is the best foundation I've used in terms of covering everything. A little goes a long way with this so you definitely don't need to apply a lot to get a flawless finish. I've been really loving it for achieving a perfect base that hides all flaws but doesn't look like a mask, the name might scare people and I know many use it for covering tattoos but it's not heavy on the skin at all. Another old favourite of mine made a reappearance this month, Mac Groundwork Paintpot. A favourite makeup look of mine is applying this over the lid and then just blending out a matte brown shade through the crease, this creates the perfect base for a smokey brown eye and I love the smooth and soft consistency which makes it easy to apply. While I was in Space NK, which seems to be happening a lot lately, I decided I wanted to try a new brow product. I remembered asking a girl working there what she used on her brows a few months ago as they looked incredible and she said she only wore Kevyn Aucoin products. I decided to pick up their Precision Brow Pencil as I prefer products where I can mimic eyebrow hairs and make my brows look as natural as possible. This brow pencil is by far the best one in terms of shade, if you're fair like me this is the perfect shade. It's not too dark, too ashy or too red, it's the perfect match for my hair colour.

I recently purchased another NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, I'm not sure how many of these I need but they just keep ending up in my shopping basket! I bought the shade Cairo which is a pretty nude shade, it is fairly light so I've been loving applying both Cairo and London to my lips to create the perfect mix of both of them. My final favourite is the Becca Blushed with Light Palette, again while in Space NK (there seems to be a recurring theme here...) I was looking at their Christmas products and collections (which are amazing by the way!) when I spotted this palette. Recently I've been wearing a lot more blushers and loved the shades in this palette, particularly the shade 'Wisteria.' It's such a pretty and handy palette and I love all three shades so will definitely get a lot of use out of this palette!
